Greater Pensacola Area PACE Programs Delivering Access to Resiliency Hardening, Clean Energy Improvements

Ygrene completes 12 PACE projects in Pensacola area

(Pensacola, Fla.) – Ygrene Energy Fund, Florida’s leading provider of Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing, today highlighted the completion of 12 PACE projects in the Greater Pensacola Area. Through local PACE programs, and with Ygrene financing, families in Pensacola and throughout Escambia County have completed 12 energy efficiency and hurricane resiliency upgrades to homes and businesses, including a 40-kilowatt commercial solar installation. To date, these projects have helped save more than 1.4 million kWh of electricity. That’s enough to power nearly 130 average American homes for a year, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

“From Pensacola to the Florida Keys, PACE is working for families in the Sunshine State and the 12 projects completed across Escambia County with Ygrene financing are a testament to the widespread success of this essential public policy,” said Mike Lemyre, Ygrene Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “We are proud of the important work we’ve done with families in Pensacola and communities across the state to drive down energy consumption and build up hurricane resiliency.”

According to a new report released by Ygrene – “A PACE Enabled World” – if PACE were utilized in just 15 percent of all buildings in Florida, the state could add more than 1.6 gigawatts of clean solar energy, enough energy to power more than 300,000 homes.

Ygrene is the only PACE financing provider to have earned designation as a Clean PACE Certified Partner and employs the industry’s strongest consumer protections in its work to expand access to clean and renewable energy in Florida.
