Ygrene Energy Fund Announces Webinar on PACE Financing for Hurricane Protection
Award-Winning Chief Meteorologist John Morales joins Florida’s largest PACE provider to present webinar titled “Is Your Home Ready for the Next Big Storm?”
Petaluma, CA – Ygrene Energy Fund, the nation’s leading provider of residential, multifamily and commercial property assessed clean energy financing, today announced that it will present a webinar entitled “is Your Home Ready for the Next Big Storm?,” on Tuesday, October 17 at 10:00am PST.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 87 percent of category 1 and 2 hurricanes—and 96 percent of major hurricanes—occur during Atlantic hurricane season, an eight-week period between mid-August and mid-October. Although tropical cyclones impact much of the East Coast and Southeast, no state is more prone to hurricanes than Florida. The webinar will explore how Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing can help thousands of Floridians protect their homes, their families and their finances in the face of these storms.
Speakers include John Morales, the award-winning chief meteorologist at WTVJ NBC-6 Miami and the longest-tenured broadcast meteorologist in South Florida. During his 33-year career in meteorology, John has been a lead forecaster for the National Weather Service and worked in the private sector as a Certified Broadcast and Certified Consulting Meteorologist. John will be joined by Deborah Castro, Ygrene’s regional sales director working in support of Ygrene’s network of Certified Contractors and customers in the South Florida region. Deborah brings more than 10 years of financial real estate expertise to the booming PACE industry.
Hailed as one of the top 20 “world-changing” ideas by Scientific American Magazine, PACE financing is an innovative program that enables property owners to obtain 100 percent financing for seismic retrofits, energy- and water-saving upgrades, onsite renewable energy generation projects and, in some areas, hurricane protection and EV charging stations. Payments are made with property taxes and repaid over long terms, up to 20-plus years. Ygrene PACE financing is currently available in California, Florida and Missouri. Cities or counties who incorporate Ygrene into their environmental program can potentially help create more local jobs, stimulate the local economy, achieve mandated CO2 reduction targets and help constituents lower their utility bills.
The first 50 property owners that register and attend the webinar will receive two free tickets to “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.”
