"Ygrene is honored to be recognized for achievements in the inventive tradition of Thomas Edison," said Dennis Hunter, Ygrene Chairman. "Much as Edison's light bulb revolutionized how we live, we believe Ygrene's innovative financing program is revolutionizing how we use and save energy. Not all PACE programs are created equal, and as more and more leaders learn about the unparalleled economic power of our unique, privately funded model, we will continue our rapid growth to leading municipalities like Miami and Sacramento."

Ygrene has been recognized repeatedly for its leadership in energy efficiency financing in recent weeks, including the following accolades in regions where Ygrene's programs are in place.

  • The City of Sacramento won the "Green Economic Development" award at the Green California Summit for its Clean Energy Sacramento program in partnership with Ygrene. CEO Dan Schaeffer spoke about Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs in a conversation at the Summit.
  • Miami-based nonprofit Dream in Green awarded Ygrene the "Green Innovation Award" for outstanding community leadership and environmental stewardship.
  • Ygrene partnered with the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce in South Florida to recognize local businesses for green building and enterprise with the "Ygrene Means Green" award.

"Ygrene's work in cities, in my view, represents the greatest potential in the history of energy efficiency in America," said Murat Armbruster, senior advisor for Ygrene partner Carbon War Room. "We see the Ygrene-PACE model as the possibility of being the greatest privately funded jobs program the U.S., if not the world, has ever seen."
