John Apostle Hired to Oversee Legal and Compliance Matters and Provide Strategic Guidance for Ygrene Leadership
(Petaluma, Calif.) - Ygrene, one of the nation’s leading property improvement financing providers, announced today that John Apostle has been appointed as General Counsel. In this role, Apostle will oversee all legal and compliance matters, providing strategic guidance to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
Apostle joins Ygrene after 30 years of working in the financial services, investments, and insurance industry. Previously, he spent time in private practice in addition to working for SunTrust Bank, GE Capital, and Genworth Financial, developing a holistic view of business best practices. Apostle is an expert in implementing meaningful compliance and data privacy programs that address compliance issues and risks, emerging regulatory requirements, and company initiatives and priorities.

In addition to his work in the field, Apostle has served on various committees of the Financial Services Roundtable and the American Council of Life Insurers, including serving as Chair of the Annuity Suitability Working Group. In his community, John is devoted to Homeward, the planning and coordinating organization for homeless services that seeks to prevent and end homelessness in Central Virginia. He has served several terms on its Board of Directors and is Chair Emeritus.
Apostle received his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Richmond in Virginia and completed the Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
