^^ Annual estimated cooling cost to run a 3-ton (36,000 BTU/Hour) 10 SEER system, installed in the 1990s, is $1,252. Replacing with a new 16 SEER system brings the cost to $783, saving $469 per year, as quoted by Florida Power & Light Company.
